The Blazing Barn – @crzydaves
Address???
Overall Bites:
Value: Just under $10 for a juicy bacon burger with green chile and a side of fries – similar to what you would pay at any burger shop.
Taste: This was real bacon and had a great taste. The fries were also crispy, just enough salt, and left you wanting more.
Presentation: You’ll get a Styrofoam container with a black and white checkered paper. The burger required some assembly as the veggies were on the side. You can see from the picture that it looked good!
Vibe: The owners of the truck were super friendly and gave their recommendation. They brought the food to me where I was sitting. Would definitely buy from them again.
Accessibility: It doesn’t look like there is a set location for the Blazing Barn. You’ll need to check their Facebook page to see where they’ll be.
I found the Blazing Barn outside of the Cottonwood Mall for a small event they were having in their parking lot. There were only a few people and a couple of other vendors. One of the nice things of the Blazing Barn is that they do take credit/debit which is helpful for some of us.
The menu isn’t very extensive and they only have a few add-ons. They were super friendly, made suggestions of what I should try. I decided to try the bacon cheeseburger and added green chile. The total price was about $10 (I lost my receipt or I’d tell you the exact price). It only took a few minutes before they came out to find me and handed me my food.
You can see from the picture that the fries looked a golden brown, they were also salted well and were crispy. There is some assembly required on the burger (you had to put it together) which wasn’t a big deal. You get what you would expect on a burger – onions, tomatoes, mayo. Overall I thought the presentation was good and the meal looked like a good size burger and good portion of fries.
The burger was juicy. The bacon was thick. The green chile was just enough. If you’ve Blake’s chile you know it can be somewhat spicy. This wasn’t. It was more of a mild to medium (but closer to the mild). I’m not sure how much meat you got but I’m going to guess it was a 1/3 pound patty. There was bacon in every bite as well as green chile. I really enjoyed the taste and the juiciness of the burger.
The only drawback I have is that the truck doesn’t seem to setup in one particular spot. They do travel around. The good thing is that they let you know where they’ll be on their Facebook page. They do list 114 Carlisle Blvd 87106 as their address but I didn’t drive by to confirm they were there.
All in all, I give 4.5 Bites. The food was good. The operators were friendly. The presentation was good. But the burger and fries were the best!
