OVERALL BITES:
Value: Most plates are around 6.50 and up. There is a decent serving of rice and beans, nothing crazy, but the meal is very filling.
Taste: The tacos were amazing! Pico and guacamole are packed, along with the meat, into a corn tortilla. On top of that you’re given a few different salsas to pour over them. You’ll have to open wide to eat these bad boys!
Presentation: The food is served in Styrofoam containers so it’s nothing special. But the food did in fact look appetizing.
Vibe: The shop itself is nothing special. It’s a place you go visit to enjoy good food done for a fair price. There were a few people that came in and picked up their orders and considering the small size of the shop it’s not a bad idea – especially if they get busy.
Accessibility: Easy to find and decent parking in the shopping center. Simply go to the Northwest corner of 67th Ave and Bethany Home Rd.
Review – Mi Pueblito Mexican Food
It was a rough Tuesday, for a number of reasons, and I had just arrived at another one of my stores and found an old friend. I had worked with Eddie a number of years ago in Tucson and now he was in Glendale. The first thing he asked was if I had yet to have tacos. It was almost 2pm and I had yet to eat and I was getting hangry! He didn’t have to ask me twice and after putting a few things in order then we walked over to Mi Pueblito Mexican Food restaurant.
Again I went to my go to meal of Carne Asada tacos. For $7.50 you get two fully stuffed tacos. There is also a small side of rice and beans. It only took a about 10 minutes to get our food. It seemed like a reasonable amount of time considering there was only a couple of people inside the restaurant. You order at the counter and then they call you up when it’s ready. Styrofoam containers are the way things are served at Mi Pueblito so don’t expect plates and silverware.
I opened my container and was a little taken aback by the size of the tacos. They were huge!!! They were stuffed with meat, with pico de gallo (onions, cilantro and tomato), and guacamole. You’re given a few different types of salsas in little plastic containers too. I poured on the green since it wasn’t too hot and I dove right in. No fatty meat here and it was full of flavor. I had to open wide and when I bit down the guacamole squeezed out a bit which is what a great taco does!
It didn’t take me long to finish the first taco but getting through the second took a bit of effort. I have yet to find a taco that keeps me down so I simply manned up and enjoyed them until the very last bite! I ate the stuff that fell out too!!! The rice and beans were ok. The beans could have used a little salt but overall they tasted fresh.
Overall Mi Pueblito gets 4 Bites!!! They were speedy, the food was good, the portion was a great size and very filling. The shop itself was nothing special but we’re here for the food and that’s what stood out the most!
