Japanese Kitchen – Great end to our busy day!
Teppanyaki restaurants can be easy to find, but finding one that amazes me is by far the best thing that can happen. Check out how our Saturday night ended and what we enjoyed about the food at Japanese Kitchen!

Overall Bites:
Value: The amount of food we received for the price we paid was about right. We paid about $50 for drinks, two entrees (which by the way are a heck of a serving) and an entree for my kid.
Taste: I don’t usually go to Japanese restaurants or Chinese due to the fact that I get sick but the taste of this food was amazing. I ordered teriyaki salmon with steamed rice and my partner ordered teriyaki chicken with fried rice.
Presentation: It’s a teppan grill so the presentation to these entrees was super cool. Here are videos of exactly what you will find at a teppan grill!
Vibe: Love the vibe at this place!! The servers are super nice and attentive. The chef had a great attitude and even joked around with my daughter, I didn’t want to leave this place.
Accessibility: I’m from El Paso and we took a trip to Albuquerque. I only know that it is across from ABQ Uptown. It didn’t seem hard to get to and we parked in a garage which led out to the restaurant. One of the best things we have in this day and age is google maps. So really, just google it.
Review – Japanese Kitchen
Japanese Kitchen was such a great experience to take my daughter to but not only that, our whole day was filled with such great experiences! First stop of the day was an exhibit on Frida Kahlo and photographs that she had. Second stop was The Lantern Fest at the Sandia Speedway. Goodness was this such a great experience to go to and more so take my little one! It is definitely a place you want to take your family to! After that amazing lighting and releasing of the lanterns, we were hungry!
Traffic took a while and we were glad the Japanese Kitchen closed at 10:30. If they would have close earlier who knows what you’d be reading right now! Anyway, back to Japanese Kitchen. As we entered, they seated us immediately. It is a two story restaurant with tables that sit about 9-10 people! They will seat you first, give you menus and take your drink order. Then wait a couple of moments to ensure that there won’t be any more customers coming in. They do this to fill the table and what a great way to network with other people right?!
As you’re looking over the menu, your server will bring you a small salad and mushroom soup. The flavor for the salad was fresh, and the dressing was tangy but not overpowering. The mushroom soup was perfect for this Fall weather. It wasn’t salty, it wasn’t bland it had such a great taste. It almost tasted like miso soup but had a different type of broth.
Our Entrees
Our server was great, refilled our drinks almost instantly and was very attentive to whatever we needed. The chef came out and did his thing and let me tell you, it is awesome when you can expose your kids to different cultures and different foods. She had an amazing time. The flavor of the salmon I ordered was citrusy, tangy, and sweet. The veggies were fresh and went well with the steamed rice! Now the good thing about these entrees being a great serving is that we got to share. My partner had the fried rice and the teriyaki chicken and boy was that good too! Sweet and savory chicken flavor and the fried rice was amazing! I rarely eat fried rice, but this changed it for me!
Japanese Kitchen was a great way to end our night. They get 4 Bites from me. Everything was great. From the servers, to the flavors and the vibes! There is only one thing I didn’t like about it. As you enter, they have these little knick knacks, sort of origami, on a table and they were selling them. I thought the idea of selling them is great. I just wouldn’t have them at the entrance.
Nonetheless, this place was great and Localbite is definitely coming back!!!
