El Parque – Sunday Vibes
Overall Bites:
Value: $9.99 and portion size was good. I wish I could have gotten a bit more rice but details on what I had in review!
Taste: The rice was OK, nothing to brag about, the charro beans were so good though. There are times when you just get charros that are too salty and these were perfect.
Presentation: The presentation wasn’t fancy, but wasn’t the worst. It was just right. The chicken was smothered with chipotle sauce that had the perfect bite. It wasn’t too spicy and had a hint of sweetness to it.
Vibe: I will always be honest with you guys. You know that right? But I wasn’t feeling this place so much. It was an ‘OK’ vibe. Don’t get me wrong though, service was good but just something was a bit off. I just can’t put my finger on it.
El Parque. It was Sunday, it was hot, and we were starving. It was probably around noon and we were just driving around. We didn’t know what to eat either. I’m not the type that will go in circles about what I want to eat but this day in particular, I just didn’t know. Luckily I have a partner that likes to make decisions FAST! We drove past El Parque and he said “There?!” And I was up for the ‘challenge’!
It wasn’t a challenge for me though. I love trying different restaurants which is why we’re here! The place as we went in was a little dim, darker than most places I’ve been to, and It looked as if they had a breakfast buffet earlier. So we definitely need to make it there a little earlier. Anyway! They were prompt to take our drink order and bring the complimentary salsa and tostadas which by the way the salsas were served on a tower tray type thing. I personally thought this was awesome. It didn’t take up much space and we had about 3-4 different salsas.
Fast forward to us getting our food and stuffing our faces. I had chicken chipotle with rice and charro beans (it seems like more often than not, I eat charro beans haha!) and they were perfect. Like I mentioned above, the chipotle wasn’t spicy, in fact, I think it was sweeter than it was spicy. I personally like the combination of the two. Sweet and spicy, definitely a good combo in my book. The chicken was well prepared and that’s a good thing because I can’t tell you how many restaurants I’ve been to in the past where my chicken was undercooked! Scary! And the rice, ah the rice could’ve had a hint of more flavoring but it was no big deal as I ate it because I was having it along with everything else. Everything was great. From the service to the food and everything in between. I also love the artwork they had on the walls!
Now for me ‘El Parque’ receives 4 Bites. The reason they receive 4 Bites is because they would bring your food out on a cart. After they were finished utilizing the cart they would store them under the bar. I thought it looked a bit tacky. Another reason was because as I try to go to their own website, it doesn’t really have anything on there. Also, one of the waitresses had money hanging from her because it was her birthday, but really, that’s very unsanitary. However this was my personal experience! Try them out for yourselves!
